Regional Championship

2/29/08 - 9:31PM       As of 9:30PM tonight, there are no changes to the Regional Championship at Connecticut College.  Every effort will be made to post any delays or changes on this site by 5:30 AM, but participants should also check on ctswim.org. 

CAMEL is pleased to be a Connecticut Swimming Regional Championship host.  For ease of the swimmers and spectators, information for the meet will be posted here on CAMEL’s home page.

• Entry lists - parents, participants, entry chairmen and coaches are encouraged to check this list for errors and omissions.   Changes and late qualifiers will be accepted per Connecticut Swimming’s policies as outlined in the meet announcement.

• Important Parking Information - except for coaches and staff who hold parking passes and those with valid DMV handicap placards, absolutely no Regional Championship traffic will be allowed into the athletic complex area.

Lifeguarding Course one of many new programs at CAMEL

CAMEL is pleased to announce that we will be offering both a lifeguarding course and a lifeguarding recertification course this spring.   The courses will be free for CAMEL employees and there will be a $100 discount for participants concurrently enrolled in any CAMEL spring or summer longcourse program.   The courses will be offered with a goal of two certification dates, May 13th and June 30.  Registrants must be 15 by June 30.  Contact Coach Ann for more information.

In addition to Lifeguarding, CAMEL is offering  a Summer Only Competitive Swimming program for swimmers who are unable to participate in the full long course season, a Highschool/College Preseason Camp in August, an Age Group Diving program and and an Age Group Water Polo program.  CAMEL is also offering other Red Cross certification classes including CPR, First Aid, and Safety Traing for Swim Coaches.   Contact Coach Ann for more information. 

Practice Schedule Adjusted for Taper

Please note that to accomodate the college water polo team season overlapping with the college swim team season, and to allow for appropriate taper for CAMEL’s more experienced swimmers, Pre-team and Dromedary practice times remain unchanged, but all other groups will start 1/2 hour later Monday through Thursday for the next two weeks.  The changes have been incorporated on the lastest update of the Detailed Team Calendar which resides on the “Documents” page.   

Regional Championship Updates

Please check CAMEL’s Preliminary Regional Entry very carefully to ensure you are not entered if you are not participating, if you are participating that you are entered in only the days and events you want to compete in, and that you are entered appropriately per the guidelines in the Regional Meet Announcement if you are participating.  

Due to the accident resulting in the loss of the team computer, some requested changes, additions or deletions may not be reflected in the current version of the entry.There will be a Regional planning meeting parents meeting Wednesday 6:40 - 7:10 at the pool.  The Regional Championship is CAMEL’s largest fundraiser each year; we would like as many parents to attend this meeting as possible.

If you have not signed up to work at least two sessions, please contact Aaron Burstein ASAP to arrange your work assignments.

• Soda (3) 12 packs) diet or regular
• Candy (case from BJs)
