CAMEL Welcomes 5 New Members

Please join the CAMEL staff in welcoming Kamal Kalkhoran, Sam Rogers, Kelly McGrath, Brock Kraemer and Maggie Swenson.  Kamal, Sam and Kelly began in our Pre-team and are all transitioning to the Dromedary group.  Maggie, age 14 joined the Llamas and Brock, CAMEL’s newest memberof the 11/12 boys squad is in the Bactrian group.

CAMEL Offering Vacation “Doubles”

There will be double the opportunity to practice during the upcoming school vacation.  Practices noted in red font on the Holiday Calendar are additional opportunities to practice (by RSVP only).  If at least one swimmer commits to attending by e-mailing Coach Ann between 9:00AM and 9:00PM the day before, coaches will be on deck for them at the additional practice the next day.  If you did not RSVP, you are welcome to attend, but should check there is a practice offered first.  Practices will be noted by updates to this article and on the “Updates” tab.  The regularly scheduled practices will be held as always, no RSVP necessary.

  • Sat Dec 22 AM:  There is regularly scheduled practice 8:00 - 10:00AM.  (No RSVP is necessary for regularly scheduled practices).
  • Sun Dec 23 PM: There is regularly scheduled practice 6:00 - 8:30PM.  (No RSVP is necessary for regularly scheduled practices).
  • Mon Dec 24 AM:  There were 4 RSVP’s; Christmas Eve morning practice will be 7:00-9:30AM for Vicunas, Alpacas. Llamas, Guanacos and Masters.
  • There is no evening practice Monday, Decemeber 24, Christmas Eve.
  • There is no morning or evening practice on Tuesday, December 25, Christmas Day.
  • Wed Dec 26 AM: There were no RSVP’s so a morning “double” will NOT be held Wednesday, December 26.
  • Wed Dec 26 PM:  There is regularly scheduled practice 6:00 - 8:30PM.  (No RSVP is necessary for regularly scheduled practices).
  • Thu Dec 27 AM: There were five RSVP’s so there will be a morning “double” practice 7:00-9:30AM for Vicunas, Alpacas. Llamas, Guanacos and Masters.
  • Thu Dec 27 PM:  There is regularly scheduled practice 6:00 - 8:30PM.  (No RSVP is necessary for regularly scheduled practices).
  • Fri Dec 28 AM: There were three RSVP’s so there will be a morning “double” practice 7:00-9:30AM for Vicunas, Alpacas. Llamas, Guanacos and Masters.
  • Fri Dec 28 PM: There is regularly scheduled practice 6:00 - 8:30PM.  (No RSVP is necessary for regularly scheduled practices).
  • Sat Dec 29 AM:  There is regularly scheduled practice 8:00 - 10:00AM.  (No RSVP is necessary for regularly scheduled practices).
  • Sat Dec 29 PM:  Though the regularly scheduled morning practice will be held, there were no RSVP’s so an evening ”double” will NOT be held Saturday, December 29.
  • Sun Dec 30 AM:  Though the regularly scheduled evening practice will be held, there were no RSVP’s so a morning ”double” will NOT be held Sunday, December 30.
  • Sun Dec 30 PM: There is regularly scheduled practice 6:00 - 8:30PM (No RSVP is necessary for regualrly scheduled practices).
  • Mon Dec 31 AM: There were three RSVP’s so there will be a morning “double” practice 7:00-9:30AM for Vicunas, Alpacas. Llamas, Guanacos and Masters.
  • There is no PM practice New Year’s Eve. 
  • There is no AM practice New Year’s Day.
  • Tue Jan 1 PM: There were two RSVP’s so there will be a holiday evening practice 6:00-8:30PM for Vicunas, Alpacas. Llamas, Guanacos and Masters.

The regular practice schedule resumes Wednesday evening, January 2.

CAMEL HOLIDAY PARTY

Thursday, December 20 will be CAMEL’s annual holiday celebration.  Prospective members, parents and Masters swimmers are welcome to join our coaches and swimmers for relays and games in the pool, 6:30 - 7:50 PM, followed by a hot cocoa and cookie holiday social on the spectator balcony, 7:50 - 8:10 PM.   There will be a small gift exchange during the social (gifts should be around $5).  Anyone who drops a gift in the bag before practice gets to take a gift from the bag during the social.  (Siblings and guests are welcome to participate).

FROSTBITE FRENZY

CAMEL is hosting the annual Frostbite Frenzy Age Group Qualifier Meet this weekend, Saturday, December 8 & Sunday December 9.  Please remember except for coaches and essential meet personnel, please drop swimmers off at the pool and then park in the overflow lot across the street next to the Williams School.   There is no parking in faculty spaces or other spaces not designated for spectators. There is absolutely no parking on the grass or along the road on campus or on the street in front of the campus.  Cars parked illegally risk being ticket and towed.  Here is some information for swimmers, coaches, officials and spectators that may be helpful:
