CAMEL Opens registration for Pre-team Lesson Group

Registration for CAMEL’s new pre-team lesson program begins Monday.  The pre-team group will meet 6:30 - 7:10 PM  Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning Monday, October 8 and continuing through Thursday, March 27.  Swimmers need to be comfortable in water and at least five years old.  CAMEL Coaches Anne Farley and Adrienne Barclay will be working with this new group.  Cost for the full six month program (approximately ninety-six 40 minute classes on the team calendar) is $285 tuition plus $55 USA membership fee.  Enrollment is first come, first served and will be limited to 16 participants or less.  Please contact Coach Ann to register.

CAMEL Continues to Grow

This week, CAMEL welcomed Dakota Williams to the 9/10 boys squad and Evelyn and Janina Huang to the 9/10 girls squad.  CAMEL Masters welcomed Penelope Consentino.  These four new athletes bring CAMEL’s 07-08 Short Course Roster to 74!  Because of the infusion of new coaches and athletes, CAMEL has been able to add two new practice groups and now has three or four coaches on deck all seven days per week!  The 07-08 Practice Group Assignments and the associated Practice & Staffing Schedule for 2007-08 were announced yesterday.  Swimmers interested in joining CAMEL for the 2007-2008 season (including high school girls) should contact Coach Ann ASAP to ensure a spot on the team and on the Senior trip.

CAMEL 10 and Unders Kick off Season with a Triathlon

CAMELS were well represented at Saturday’s Mighty Kids Triathlon at Rocky Neck Park.  Sarah Burstein took 4th place in her division with a time of 19:30! David Burstein and Asia White both took 8th place in their divisions and Grace Moriarty took 1st place as part of her 9-11 relay team.  Mr. Burstein hit the theme of the season when he said, “most importantly they all had a great time”.  Full results may be accessed at the mighty kids website

CAMEL welcomes new coach and two new athletes

Camel announced that coach Meghan Donnelly will be working with CAMEL’s younger athletes.  Coach Meghan will be coaching the Dromedary group on Tuesdays and Fridays which will allow that group to now have the opportunity to practice all seven days per week as reflected on the revised team calendar and the practice schedule.  CAMEL also welcomed two new athletes.  Micah Saspa has joined CAMEL’s 13/14 girls squad practicing with the Llamas and Kenzle Saspa has joined the 11/12 girl’s squad practicing with the Alpacas.  Micah and Kenzle bring CAMEL’s growing roster to 67.  Registration is ongoing.  Contact Coach Ann for more information.
